Product data sources and limits

The catalog began with a supplied October 30, 2026 research package: 699 product records, 389 families, 445 source records and field-level evidence links. Five accessory variants were added from four official manufacturer pages. Nine family-shared records remain clearly separate from exact buyable options.

What is in each product record

Each displayed specification can carry one or more source IDs leading to original manufacturer, retailer or manual pages. The record also stores an exact family and variant, a checked date, market-status label, missing fields and discrepancy notes. Source dates are research dates, not live stock checks.

What the values mean

Tent capacity is nominal. Tent minimum and packaged weights are different. Sleeping bag product labels are kept apart from ISO comfort and limit. Pad R-value keeps its reported test method. Family-shared dimensions are not silently promoted to exact SKU values.

Known gaps

The package contains no live offers, prices or Amazon ASIN mappings. Some records have retailer-only evidence, incomplete variant labels, unresolved manufacturer conflicts or unverified US availability. These gaps appear on product pages; zero never replaces a missing number. Product images are not republished without confirmed rights.

Independent reference standards

For pad thermal resistance, see ASTM F3340-22. For adult bag ratings, see ISO 23537-1:2022. Neither standard alone guarantees outdoor safety.
